Work Hard. Play Hard

We hope you have all had a lovely Easter and have consumed your own body weight in Easter Egg Chocolate!

Now that spring is most definitely upon us, the gardens are bursting with colour, the nights have pulled out and peonies have arrived at the market (jumps with joy!) What a month we have had at the Sarah Harper Flower’s HQ! We have bought to life some beautiful weddings in stunning locations within Oxford, presented 5 demonstrations in less than 10 days, (one to a huge audience of over 80 people!) made some of Oxford’s finest colleges ooze flowery loveliness, made lots of Mother’s very happy, worked on some styled shoots, had our work published in print in a national wedding magazine and spent some much needed down time with our family and of course an Easter Egg Hunt! Sleep… massively over rated!!

We started the month with the marriage of Dave and Pete at Convocation House and the Divinity School in Oxford. They had chosen a beautiful spring mix of pale yellow and sky blue and got a whole mixture of seasonal delights from blossom, ranunculus, muscari, tulips, and garden roses to name but a few. We wish them both lots of happiness in their new marriage!

Then we were taken slightly out of our comfort zone and were placed in front of the camera at a styled shoot with the most amazing dream team of inspirational ladies! Luckily the super talented Bethany Stanley (you must check out her work bethanystanley.com ) made Sarah feel totally at ease. Bethany was capturing Sarah in the process of making up floristry arrangements, we are very excited to share with you end results soon! Watch this space!

Mother’s Day saw some of the most beautiful bouquets been delivered both locally to in Oxford  and Sheffield and nationwide! We had some extremely happy Mummies, Granny’s and Ladies and of course it we couldn’t have pulled it all together without the hard work of Maggie, who received her own bouquet in the post. YES even a florist likes to receive flowers!

It was no April fools that Olivia and Mike’s wedding was made up of the most dreamy colour palette and situated in one of the prettiest Chapels we have worked in, at Queen’s College Oxford. They were a delight to work with from our first meeting in London in 2016, we wish them all the best as Mr and Mrs!

Our ever popular flower demos have been a real hit this month with our collection ‘Sunshine Always Follows the Rain’. We take you on a floral journey full of laughter, knowledge and pure enjoyment! We are often told it is the best demonstration they have ever seen. We love visiting groups of people whether that’s Flower Clubs, WI groups, New Mums, Hen dos, Craft groups or Corporate days if you would like an informal, enjoyable and flower packed afternoon whether watching or hands on drop us a line!

And finally being in the latest issue of Wedding Flowers and Accessories with our pink and gold collection has made for a wonderful if not slightly hectic few weeks!

Love from the Sarah Harper Flowers Team.

love, sarah x
