Confetti in the Cotswolds
Having a weekend off during the height of the Wedding season doesn’t happen very often so when I see a gap in the diary, I always make sure we make the most of it! When my ever-supportive Alistair suggested we headed off into the heart of the Cotswold’s on a glorious summer’s day to visit flower farms I knew I had landed in ‘day-off heaven!’.
Our first stop of the day was The Real Confetti Company, who open their flower farm for few weeks of the year in July. The brightly coloured fields full of delphiniums and cornflowers welcome guests upon arrival. With winding paths that lead you through fields of shades of pink, purple, lilac and white providing a visual delight.
Our second visit was to Cotswold Lavender. Lavender is one of my absolute favourites; there is something about its dense colour and dainty, fragranced flowers that gracefully dance in the wind, which make everything seem tranquil and at peace. So being able to immerse myself in rows upon rows of it (whilst having to be careful of the bees who were equally in their element) and switch off for a few minutes was utter bliss! It is well worth a trip to visit the fields as they are quite a spectacle.
Happiness is spending time doing what you love with that one special person who makes you look at everyday in a better light, bringing out the best in yourself, and that one person who you know will be there no matter what.
Enjoy those precious moments, especially during hectic times when days off are few and far between.
